For the last thousands of years the arts- the cultural signature of
our nation - have distinguished us as individuals and united us as a people. The arts empower us to express ourselves and to understand and appreciate the expression of others. There is no force stronger than the arts for binding people together, notwithstanding the multiplicity of limits, borders and boundaries that may exist between them. We learn from the arts as nowhere else, about the vastness and depth of human experience.
