The rural India are the treasure-trove of rituals, folk-arts, folk-lore and a variety of performing arts.
The richness and diversity of its ritual, folk and classical qualities are incomparable to any of the living traditions in the rest of the world. The genius and perspiration of individual artistes have a big role in the progress and perfection of any form of arts. Here comes the relevance of our great Gurus - the hard core traditionalists. They have resisted all temptations to breakaway from the organic framework of art. Our great maestros have always listened to the inner voices of history. Here are some glimpses of the visits of these maestros to the city of Mumbai. Their active participation in the festivals and some of the cherished moments of regard and reverence of Gurusmruthi are presented here.
